First of all, the salt you use for your hermit crab’s water is super important. Table salt has man-made iodine that is toxic to hermit crabs and should be avoided at all costs. While some people use food-grade salt that states it has no iodine, it is safest to just pay the extra money for salt specifically made for hermit crabs. Your crab will thank you later, trust me.
Once you have the salt, you’re about half way there. Now you have to measure it so your crabs can bathe in a safe ratio of slat water. (1) For 8 oz of water mix 1.5 tsp of salt (which should be enough for 1-2 weeks) (2) For 16 oz of water mix 1 Tbsp of salt (which should be enough for 2-3 weeks) (3) For one gallon of water mix 8 Tbsp of salt (which should be enough for 4-6 weeks)
