My name is Ristynn, and I am a teenaged nature enthusiast who has researched and cared for insects, reptiles, and other creatures. One year I even cared for a wolf-spider.
Ever since I was young, praying mantises always amazed me. Sitting on a strawberry leaf, a little mantis had its feet plated firmly on the dewy plant, holding its arms tightly against its chest. For a long while I watched that little creature, trustingly unaware of my presence. Or perhaps it did not mind having an audience. Perhaps it wanted me to see it shake its small back-side and pounce on an unsuspecting fruit fly that made its last mistake.
No matter what, though, it had started something that still to this day has a tight hold on me.
The moment I began to care for each different creature, I immediately researched and then wrote a large care guide to print out for immediate access in case I needed help with caring for the creature. I spends the warmer months of the year watching insects, birds, spiders, and if I can find them, snakes.
I have set up three different bird boxes so that I can monitor different songbirds’ offspring since being inspired by all the bird cams I devotedly watch on YouTube.
